Scout now available for download

It's here. Just so you don't think we just made up the screencast. It's definitely still a work-in-progress, so give us feedback.

The skinny, version 0.9:

  • Requires .NET 2.0 and a Tablet PC (or XP with the TabletPC SDK and recognizer pack installed). Tested with a Motion LS 800. Let us know if yours makes Scout suck.
  • Landscape mode rocks. Portrait mode, not so much.
  • Handwriting recognition lets you jot down new to-do items, read and post messages and comments, see upcoming milestones, and more.
  • Messages can optionally include a freehand sketch, which will be uploaded as .jpg attachment to the message.
  • Simple ink gestures to easily reorder to-do items (just write in a new number for the item), and to mark them as complete or incomplete (just draw a quick checkmark or circle or square).
  • Uses IE proxy settings by default. Or use the Settings dialog to enter your own proxy url if you're behind a corporate firewall.
